Adam opens the show talking about parents who take their kids to ‘trick or treat’ in better neighborhoods than their own. He also talks with this week’s Lord of the Jungle, and rants about youth sports getting in the way of watching football on Sundays. Next up, Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor call in to discuss the phenomenon of ‘Welcome to Night Vale’. The guys explain to Adam how the podcast originated, and how it got adapted into a novel. Adam then asks them about their process, and how their live shows are structured.
Steve DeAngelo is in studio next, and Adam chats with him about why California needs to make weed legal and start reaping the rewards. Steve explains that CA has one of the best climates in the world to make a massive profit, and he also says when he thinks weed will become legal nationwide. Adam then rants about Jerry Brown’s views on the topic of legalization, and asks about how the strains evolve from one plant to the next. Gina then starts the news with a crackdown on kids buying eggs during Halloweentime. They also discuss a new website dedicated to finding the best neighborhoods to trick or treat in, and the highest earning dead celebrities. Other news stories include police departments boycotting Tarantino movies, a guy trying to break the record for longest Black Friday campout, and a study that says how anger and emotion impact your work habits. As the show wraps up, the guys discuss the origins of the Australian accent.
